It features a powerful feed conveyor belt and an extra-large 450-litre mobile collection container, making it ideal for continuous and high-volume shredding tasks. Built with efficiency and user comfort in mind, the shredder includes a user-friendly touchscreen interface supported by a programmable logic controller (PLC). This advanced control system allows for a wide range of intuitive functions, such as multilingual interface options, logging of total operating hours, real-time monitoring of machine processes, precise error detection, and automatic maintenance reminders—helping to streamline maintenance schedules and reduce downtime.
Safety is a top priority with the intimus 16.50. A comprehensive emergency stop bar runs the length of the input table, ensuring immediate shutdown in case of emergencies or unsafe conditions, offering peace of mind for operators in busy work environments. The shredder’s expansive 500 mm working width allows for easy and efficient loading, even of large or awkward materials, greatly enhancing productivity. It is engineered to shred a wide variety of paper-based items, whether they are loose, stapled, bound, wrinkled, or even in the form of entire folders and books. In addition to paper, it can also handle small quantities of plastic items such as credit cards, CDs, and floppy disks—making it a versatile solution for mixed-media shredding needs.
The machine delivers a cutting width of 10 x 70 mm, aligning with security level P-2, which is suitable for general internal documents requiring basic protection. To prevent delays due to paper jams, the shredder includes an automatic reverse function that quickly resolves blockages caused by overfeeding. A fill level sensor constantly monitors the collection container and automatically stops the machine when it reaches full capacity, preventing overflows and maintaining smooth operation.
